Well, who can guess where the green color comes from? You guessed it right... it actually comes from green tea! Salt production has a long tradition in Hawaii. During production, seawater is filtered and then passed into shallow basins. The sun causes the water to evaporate and, as the salt concentration increases, salt crystals form on the surface of the water and are harvested. The white, moist salt is mixed with green tea extract to give it its characteristic color. It is very popular due to its mild taste. Tip: Not suitable for the mill due to the residual moisture.
