This winter feast brings back memories of grandma's cooking! The cheesy dumplings taste particularly delicious as a side dish to the Christmas dinner.
Ingredients
5
portions
200 g pretzel biscuits
300 g Ködel bread or rolls from the day before
150 ml of milk
- 4 eggs
300g grated Irish pizza cheese Kerrygold
- 2 medium-sized onions
-
1 tsp grandma's favorite Ankerkraut
-
2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dumpling seasoning
-
1 teaspoon fine sea salt Ankerkraut
Preparation
Whisk together eggs and spices. In the meantime, warm the milk slightly in a saucepan
Cut onions and brown them lightly in a pan with olive oil.
Pluck the bread and pretzels into a bowl and pour the lukewarm milk over them. Now let everything sit well (approx. half an hour)!
Add eggs, cheese and onions to the bread roll and milk mixture and knead well.
Bring water to the boil with a little salt in a large pot
Form even dumplings and let them steep in boiling salted water for about 15-20 minutes.
The winter feast is delicious on leaf spinach, with Christmas roast or simply on its own.
